Welcome

Activesoundz is a unique music production company currently based out of Los Angeles.  Founded by John Zay in 2001, Active started out in Brooklyn NY as a vehicle for Zay to record his friends musical works.  Business quickly evolved via word of mouth to include other local musicians.  By 2003 Zay was set up in a production space in Williamsburg recording anything from bands to producing soundtrack materials.  In 2007 Zay relocated to LA, teamed up with Jack Stein to focus the business on commercial music production.  The team also utilizes its extensive collective of musicians from around the country for productions when needed.  Come inside, take a tour and see some of the work we’ve done...
